DescriptionChinese porcelain plate decorated in opaque enamel with a large spray, two smaller sprays, and a sprig of stylized European flowers.Label TextAll Chinese porcelain was hand painted, which led to a great deal of variety among even the most standard designs. Asymmetrical groupings of European flowers were common on export porcelains, and a number of plates decorated in this way have survived or been recovered archaeologically. This plate does not have a specific history of ownership, but it does closely relate to similar pieces with histories in South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and New England.
