DescriptionTurned armchair with three horizontal arched slats; rear posts incised with rings between each slat and topped with barrel shaped finials; front post turned above seat with baluster shape, unshaped where meet arms, topped with a flattened ball finial; arms tenoned into front and rear posts; woven rush seat; two front and one rear stretcher and two side stretchers on each side, all stretchers with arrow shape turning at tips; covered in dark paint.ProvenanceDonor stated that he found the chair in Ware Point, Goucester Co., VA along with the Peter Scott attributed desk & bookcase 2005-11 that has a Vaughan family history.
