2011-100A (X) - Coat: deep blue silk velvet; gold-color metallic woven tape trimmings and rope, including epaulettes; large thread button; red wool edging; white cotton satin linings; black silk wig bag fastened to back.

2011-100B (X) - Vest or Waistcoat: blue silk velvet; gold-color metallic woven tape trimming; hooks and eyes (no buttons); white cotton linings and back.

2011-100C (X) - Breeches: cream wool satin weave; gold-color metallic tape trimming; metal and horn buttons; white cotton linings.

ProvenanceThis suit coat is marked with an ink inscription indicating it was worn by Mr. McCarthy, subsequently identified as Charles McCarthy, who worked at Rockefeller Plaza as the doorman for over 20 years. McCarthy maintained a lifelong relationship with John D. Rockefeller, Jr.
