DescriptionMan's collarless and sleeveless waistcoat to a formal three-piece silk embroidered suit. Waistcoat constructed of ivory silk satin with silk embroidery in green, pinks, and lavender in a design of flowers, leaves, feathers, and beads concentrated down fronts, on hems, and on pocket flaps that cover functional linen pockets. Scattered evenly spaced flowers and feathers fill the field. Back of twill-woven silk. Faced with silk satin; lined with natural linen/cotton in twill weave. Fronts and upper half of back innerlined with wool. Lining has flap of fabric running vertically behind buttonholes to prevent show-through of white shirt when buttoned. Interruption in embroidery design from top of pocket flap out to edge is evidence that waistcoat was shortened.
