DescriptionNearly cylindrical trunk with flat bottom; hinged, domed lid; all parts but bottom covered with original deerskin; rectangular iron lockplate on front of trunk; iron hasp on front of lid; iron ring handles on either end; trunk outlined with dark leather held on with tacks; pair of leather strap supports on front (1 missing); interior lined with old pages from books which has been covered over with a later blue paper. Brass tacks on center of lid spell out "A.V./ 1784"
