DescriptionSmall boy's coat from a three-piece suit of peach-beige ribbed silk. Coat has high neckline, with collar sewn down around the edges to body of suit; collar extends around to the center back, ending in slight point. Tight sleeves, cut to curve over elbows, ending in cuffs. Front edges of coat are curved in moderate cutaway, with bands of self fabric forming decorative facings onto which 14 fabric-covered buttons are sewn, 7 on each side. No buttonholes or other front closures. Decorative shaped pocket flaps sewn down to body of coat. Back of coat has center vent and pleats on either side of the vent, trimmed with a covered button at top and bottom. Interior of coat has a functional silk and linen pocket entered from interior welt opening. Unlined.MarkingsFor accompanying labels and history, see history.
