DescriptionMan's coat, part of three-piece suit, of vertically-striped silk cut and voided velvet, woven of yellow, cream, red-orange and green. Coat has narrow standing band neckline, cut to curve down the center front and fastened with 11-1 1/8" diameter thread covered buttons giving a basket-weave effect. Shaped, curved pocket flaps, lined with original salmon silk satin, have two buttons sewn beneath intended to button through buttonholes on flaps (3 buttonholes; center button missing on each flap.) Sleeves cut to fit closely over arms and curved over elbows; 3" cuffs trimmed with three buttons each. Back of coat has center vent and pleats topped with buttons. 2. February 15, 1957: Taking out old lining, cleaning, restoring with pieces from inside of cuffs, remaking buttonholes, and relining coat with dyed satin. Work by Ernest LoNano.
