DescriptionKnee breeches of green self-striped silk, matching coat and waistcoat. Wide waistband, buttoned at center front with 3 fabric-covered buttons (lower button missing). Welt watch pocket in right front waistband. Center buttoned placket closure, without fall flap. Front pockets, buttoning on each side, and a second set of pockets in the side seams. Pockets are brown linen. Bands at knees for buckles, with five button closure placket (only 4 buttons survive on each knee). Back full, gathered into waistband. Waistband has center vent and four eyelets, over which later buckled flap is sewn with long stitches. Modern hook and eye and snaps on knee band. Breeches lined throughout with brown linen.
