DescriptionSquat baluster-bodied pot with short cylindrical foot ring, S-shaped tubular spout, and two S-scroll handles. Domed cover with wide flange and mushroom knop. White tin glaze without decoration.Label TextThis posset pot is quite similar to a privately owned, slightly larger example, of the same shape and proportions with the same handles and cover. It is dated 1668. Examples of other baluster-shaped pots with different proportions but with scroll handles date into the late 1680s. The London attribution is based on the form and the runny glaze.
