DescriptionSaucer of shallow bowl form with low foot ring. Whitish tin glaze decorated in blue with an oriental scene of a bird on a curved branch above some rockwork. Brown-red rim.Label TextThe decoration on this saucer is more closely related to Japanese Kakiemon designs than to the Chinese patterns commonly found on English delft.
Although acquired with a delft tea cup (accession 1972-381, 1), the two pieces have different patterns and colors and presumably did not start out together.
