DescriptionMan's sleeveless waistcoat of ivory ribbed silk taffeta embroidered in multi-colored silks. Embroidered design consists of small angular sprigs scattered across fronts ("powdered") and small-scale leaf and flower sprigs, bead-like festoons, and leaves concentrated down fronts, on pocket flaps, and at hems. Embroidery is worked in satin stitch in shades of dull rose, plum, greens and yellows. Waistcoat has narrow standing collar and shaped pocket flaps. Linen back and lining, faced with ivory silk.Construction History:
