DescriptionMan's sleeveless waistcoat, part of a three-piece suit made of striped cut and voided silk velvet woven of yellow with cream, orange-red, and green patterning. Waistcoat collar consists of very narrow band binding the neckline. Fronts cut almost straight, with sharp angular cutaway at bottoms. 11 thread-covered buttons; buttonholes restitched at later date. Two curved pocket flaps with three buttons trimming each one, buttoned through buttonholes on the flaps; functional pockets. Back of cream-colored twill worsted, with shallow side vents and center back vent. Lining of modern rose satin, replacing original salmon pink disintegrated lining. Center back lined with linen.Construction History:

2. February 15, 1957: Cleaning, removing lining, washing, relining and restoring, remaking buttonholes, dyed satin lining for waistcoat. Work by Ernest LoNano.
